| The Children's Hospital ABIA provides a monthly donation to the La Paz Children's Hospital, located in Miraflores. This government-run facility meets the medical needs of poor communities. Specifically, monies are earmarked for pharmaceuticals and medications which benefit indigent patients. ABIA began donations in May 2001. Several ABIA members are active volunteers at the hospital. They work to identify needs and monitor expenditures of ABIA donations. | ABIA
HELPS HOSPITAL DE LOS NIÑOS
At ABIA’s March general meeting, the membership present and voting agreed to purchase medical equipment to benefit children at Hospital de los Niños. The purchased medical equipment will be used in a new treatment room at the Hospital where children will now be able to have procedures done with anesthetic, where they previously had to endure difficult and painful procedures without. ABIA provided a grant for this medical equipment. The purchase of the medical equipment is in addition to this ongoing obligation to the Hospital. This purchase was a one-time-only grant. We continue to provide $3600 a year to Hospital de los Niños to help with prescription costs for indigent patients. Thanks
